Born and raised in University City, Missouri, Potzee is a proud St. Louis native whose sound embodies the energy, hustle, and heart of his hometown. Bursting onto the scene  with his hit single “Good Evening” featuring Murphy Lee of the Grammy-winning group St. Lunatics, Potzee quickly made waves across local radio and the Midwest music scene. In 2005 Potzee secured a record deal becoming the second artist signed directly to Selim Bouab’s “Unauthorized” imprint under Asylum/Warner Bros. Records—Bouab now serving as Co-President of 300 Entertainment/Co-President of Hip-Hop, R&B, and Global Music at Atlantic Records.

As a newly signed artist Potzee with followed up with the smash single “Dat Girl,” which climbed to #36 on the Rhythmic Top 40 under Unauthorized/Asylum Records (2006)—a record that caught industry attention and earned him an upstream deal to Warner Bros. His undeniable blend of melodic flow, street storytelling, and Midwest charisma solidified Potzee as one of the region’s most promising voices.

He also made history as the first artist to emerge from Murphy Lee’s UCME collective, carrying the U-City legacy forward. Over the years, Potzee has shared stages with heavyweights including Nelly & the St. Lunatics, Fat Joe, T.I., Young Dro, Yung Joc, Bubba Sparxxx, Ray Cash, Webbie, Boosie and many more, proving his versatility and stage presence in every performance.

Never one to slow down, Potzee continued recording and working behind the scenes, developing new artists, producing vocals, and releasing his mixtape “Cakin’” in 2010. In 2023, he reignited his fire with a heartfelt tribute to his late friend Huey (“On Huey”), marking a powerful return to music. Since then, he’s dropped three full-length projects—U HEARR ME!!, Put Up, and Ima Quor N!$$AAA—and the first installment from a 3 part series release titled “USB-4o: Round Herre” a 4-song EP dropped on October 4, followed by Volume 2 on November 4 and Volume 3 on December 4. each showcasing his evolution as both an artist and storyteller.

With over a decade of experience, industry respect, and a sound that bridges eras, Potzee stands as a true representative of St. Louis music culture—authentic, relentless, and undeniably original.
